First, I will talk about ENL 207. Because on Thursday, October 6, I just finished my first exam and I got a just-so-so grade and I wanted to change this situation in my coming exam. What's more, my experiment project will focus on EXAM EXPERIMENT, so SOURCE and TOPIC OUTLINES also meets the requirements of exam experiment.
HERE IS MY SOURCE OUTLINE.
I separated my Source Outline into 3 parts: TEXTBOOK, NOTES and OUTLINE RESOURCES. For textbook, I have three books, one for reading, one for grammar and one for writing. I listed topics for chapters. I marked the dates of my lecture notes and what's more important is that I listed all the resources on OWL websites which related to my learning topics. The source outline form gave me more clear idea about what will appear on my second exam three weeks later. At the same time, it shows me which homework and extra homework should I do after each class.
AND, HERE IS MY TOPIC OUTLINE.
According to the grammar and writing rules, I divided all of my resources into 3 topics. Obviously, the first topic"Spatial Order, Clustering, Imagery, Simile, Metaphor, Figurative Language, Cont’d, Modular sentences" is on the first place among all the three topics. Because of this, I will spend a lot of my reviewing time on this topic before my second exam. For the second and third topic, I do not have to put as much time as what I spent on my first topic as they are not as important as the first one. The biggest advantage of Topic Outline for me is it help to arrange my limited reviewing time more effectively.
Now, I will move to ECN 203. I did not bad on the first exam but some made many mistakes. And what's more, the coming exam will contain 5 whole chapters and each of them is not easy. I don't think I have a lot of time review for the exam so hopefully, this strategy helped me a lot on figuring out the most " high utility" for arraigning time.
HERE IS SOURCE OUTLINE
In my ECN203 course, the most important resources are powerpoint slices and notes. From the resource outline, I find that this five chapter concern about maker and government. This give a the clear idea when I train myself using knowledge I learned on in classes analyzing daily life economic events, especially focus on how government infect market.
HERE IS TOPIC OUTLINE.
According to syllabus, I Know how many class(es) will my professor go over each topic. Based on these data, I divided the 5 chapters into 3 parts: most time, more time and least time. The more time I spend on each chapter, the more important the chapter is.Also, this form tells me which chapter should I pay much attention on in the coming week.
So organized! I tried to apply this strategy to my course, but it definitely didn't go as well for me as it did for you! Also, great use of color :)
