Hello all! This week I'm going to introduce my way of using the
Graphic Organizer
(Found on page 108). This strategy can be used in many ways and molded to fit yourlearningstyle and what course you will be using it for. Again, I'm a visual learner, so by using this strategy and color labeling I was able to physically see what I needed to get done for a project and also fully understand one of my Spanish literature pieces. I used it for two courses, Art Photo 262
and Spanish 301.
What you'll need:
A notebook, some sharpies/highlighters (colors of your choice!), & your notes from class
Now that you have your supplies in front of you, you should be ready to go! I'm going to explain the process I went through to make a graphic organizer for my Art Photo class. I chose one of my projects that I could easily break down into steps. I found it on my syllabus:
So, now that I have my project that I want to break down, I figured out which three components of the project that are most vital for me to focus on. I also centered the title of the project and when it is due:
Next, I broke down each component into specifics that would help me understand what needs to be done for each part of the project:
And you can keep breaking down each part of the project until you feel it is complete:
Lastly, I wrote my goal for the project in a large font with a bright yellow box aro
und it. This will keep me focused on reaching my goal, almost like seeing the light at the endof the tunnel!
My finished product:
This is what my Graphic Organizer for my Spanish class looks like:
